Covid-19 Update – January 7, 2021
We are currently testing all staff and residents twice a week. The testing is provided by the State Dept coming once a week and a Staff Nurse performing rapid testing once a week. The Staff continues to use PPE (personal protective equipment), per the CDC guidelines for masks and face shields.
All residents have received the COVID-19 Vaccination. Staff will continue to receive vaccinations as well.
So far, we have had 0 residents with a positive Covid. Staff who have been positive or had close contact with a positive are quarantined at home for 14 days.
At this point, due to CDC guidelines we are not able to have vendors or visitors enter the facility. Families may set up a telephone call, zoom, facetime session, etc. to visit with them if they wish. Under the circumstances of end-of-life situations it will be individually evaluated by FSHCC. If a vendor is absolutely needed inside the facility, they must obtain a negative rapid test prior to entering the business and will work only in the needed area.
If flowers are delivered by flower shops, they may be left in the entry way and will be delivered to resident per staff.
Thank you to all the families and friends who have been so encouraging and understanding during this time. We all just want to keep our residents safe.
We will continue to post updates as they become available.
I believe I speak for all when I say, may 2021 bring much happiness and joy, and a conclusion of COVID-19!
